Today will start off mainly dry with some bright or sunny spells in the east and north. Rain will spread across Munster and west Connacht by noon and over the rest of the country this afternoon and evening.

Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with fresh south to southeast winds, strong at times along coasts.

Tonight

Rain in Ulster at first tonight. Another band of rain will develop in Munster before midnight and will spread northwards to all areas overnight with strengthening south to southeast winds.
