The Irish flag is flying at Swiss Federal Police Headquarters today in tribute to the country’s dancing Gardaí.
Swiss police this morning posted a video congratulating Gardaí for “absolutely nailing” the Jerusalema challenge.
It comes after Gardaí took to scenic locations around the country to show off their lockdown moves and “give the public we serve a lift in these challenging times.”
They were responding to a challenge from the Swiss Police who had insisted Gardaí could never top the “precision, discipline and perfectionism” shown by their colleagues in the town of Zug, south of Zurich.
Well, our colleagues @ZugerPolizei took the #jerusalemachallenge to a whole new level. But @gardainfo absolutely nailed it! 💃🕺🐎 In honour to this brilliant performance, we are all 🇮🇪 in 🇨🇭 today. Thank you @gardainfo for moments of pure joy! #StayhomeStaysafe #inthistogether https://t.co/EkSDQCOXQ2 pic.twitter.com/1kY7KpFclj

This morning, they said Gardaí “absolutely nailed” the challenge, adding: We’re all Irish in Switzerland today.”
The video shows police pulling an Irish flag from a secure box and draping it from a window of the Swiss Federal Police Headquarters.
Meanwhile, Gardaí have put the challenge out to people all across Ireland.

“The public now have the floor,” they said. “So, making sure to stay home and in your bubbles. Post your challenge using #GardaJerusalema we want to see what you can do while staying safe.”
Jerusalema was first released in 2019 and has reached number one in Belgium, Netherlands, Romania and Switzerland since the dance challenge went viral last year.
