Following the passing of the same-sex marriage referendum the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) have announced that “God hates Ireland” – but it seems they’ve been having a little trouble disrespecting the Irish flag in the way they’d like to.
The WBC- the proudly anti-gay group made famous as 'The Most Hated Family in America' in a BBC documentary - have been announcing that 'God hates Ireland' since Saturday’s result, posting videos of their protests against the referendum result and of church members dancing on the Irish flag.
The group say that the way to show a nation is in distress is to hang their flag upside down. So as part of the protests against Ireland, they decided to hang the flag upside down. Or tried to, at least...
