Businesses across Wexford are taking part in a trial today - which could spell the beginning of the end for the 1 and 2 cent coins.
250 companies have signed up for the Central Bank's Rounding Trial - which will see all cash transactions rounded to the nearest 5 cent.
It follows successful trials in the Netherlands and Finland - which have seen small coins disappear from circulation.
