A wheelchair user from Dungarvan Co. Waterford says she was refused entry onto her local Bus Éireann bus to Cork because she is disabled. The woman does not want to be named.
She says she was denied entry and was forced to travel 40 minutes to Waterford for the next nearest wheelchair accessible bus stop. Bus Éireann says they plan to introduce accessible services on routes during 2013.
The company say they are currently liaising with the local authority to examine the possibility of accessible bus stops being introduced in Dungarvan.
The woman is using the name 'Sarah'. She says it is massively frustrating. She says travelling to Waterford to travel on to Cork could put up to 2 hours onto her journey.
