Whirlpool is extending its recall of washing machines due to a risk of fire.
Three more models of 'Hotpoint' machines are now being recalled, following the initial recall last December.
The impacted models are:
- WMFG 741 G UK
- WMAQG 741 P UK
- WMAQC 641 P UK
In a statement, Whirlpool said: "We also request that all owners of these three additional models check if their appliance is affected, even if they have previously done so.
"We want to send our sincere apologies to our customers for the additional concern caused, and to thank them for taking this important safety precaution."
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission says the safety issue remains in line with the previous notice.
More than 10,000 units sold into the Irish market were impacted by the initial recall.
In December the company had to inform thousands of customers their product may be affected.
It applied to various models manufactured under the Hotpoint and Indesit brands between 2014 and 2018.
No Whirlpool-branded products were impacted.
Anyone whose products are affected is entitled to either a replacement machine or a free-of-charge in-home repair.
More information on the recall is available on the Whirlpool website.
