The busiest night of the year in the Dáil bar came after debating the Water Services Bill last month.
Figures released today show that the Dáil bars were occupied with serving stout and lager on the night of December 17th as TDs voted through the controversial water charges legislation.
The tills clocked up €7,461 in sales over the 40-hour debate the House of the Oireachtas Commission revealed in response to a Freedom of Information request.
That figure includes some 301 pints of Guinness and 139 pints of Heineken, Budweiser and Carlsberg that were consumed by TDs on the night.
The total amount is €563 more than the €6,898 taken in during the busiest night of 2013 as the Dáil sat all-night debating the Government's Protection of Life During Pregnancy Bill in July of that year.
