Parts of Torc Mountain in County Kerry are closed to the public following a large fire in the area overnight.
Emergency crews from Killarney and surrounding stations responded to the scene at 10pm.
The blaze is now under control.
However, a minor fire also started on nearby Mangerton Mountain.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer with Kerry County Council, John Hegarty, said they were worried about the main fire spreading to the national park.
He explained: "We were busy there in rotation on the mountain, right until 6am this morning - at which time the southern and western sides of the mountain were extinguished.
"That was going to prevent it travelling further into the national park, which would put this national reserve at risk."
This afternoon, Kerry County Council said Torc mountain is now fully accessible, except for the 'Boardwalk' on the southern side.
That area will remain closed until further notice due to fire damage.
