The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been invited to visit Ireland.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny issued the informal invite when he meet William and Kate at a pre-Olympic event in London last week.

Mr. Kenny has told the Irish Independent the couple were ‘very enthusiastic’ about the idea.

However any formal invites would have to go through Buckingham Palace.
