Gardaí are investigating 'all circumstances' related to the death of William Moorehouse in County Wicklow.
On Sunday evening, Gardaí and emergency services were called out a Bray playground where Mr Moorehouse’s body was found.
The playground is surrounded by two primary schools, a church car park and a community centre - all of which have also been cordoned off from the general public by the Garda Technical Bureau.
Forensic investigators have also focused their examination on the car park of the community centre.
Local Councillor Erika Doyle said the place where Mr Moorehouse’s body was found is a focal point of the area.
“Behind us here at the scene, we have a playground, a church and a school,” she said.
“I actually went to school in the school right there - all places where you would have an expectation of feeling safe.
“So, it is all the more shocking that it happened right where we know children play everyday and families walk through.”
It is thought that Mr Moorehouse, who is understood to be a father of six, died after he was stabbed but Gardaí will await for the results of a post-mortem examination before determining the course of their investigation.
No arrests have been made.
