The latest Euromillions winning ticket was sold in Castlebar Co. Mayo.
The €15 million winning ticket was bought at Staunton's Costcutter Express in Castlebar. The family picked up their winnings last week and wish to remain private.
Their winning ticket was a €6 Quick Pick selection which was bought for the draw last on April 1st.
The family said they have not made any definite plans, but they intend to make sure that their family's financial future is secured.
"We have been playing EuroMillions for a number of years now and have won small prizes, but this win is definitely life-changing", said a family member.
"Since we realised we are the winners, we've been coming to terms with the news, but it's almost overwhelming" the family said.
This win brings the total won by Euromillions players in Ireland to over €639 million since the game launched here in 2004 and makes Ireland one of the luckiest places in Europe to buy a Euromillions ticket.
In less than a year, there have been three Irish Euromillions jackpot wins. Since Ireland joined the game, players in Ireland have hit the jackpot six times.
