Marie Farrell has claimed a detective working on the Sophie Toscan du Plantier murder investigation stripped naked and asked her for sex.
The shopkeeper from Schull, Co Cork is being cross examined as part of Ian Bailey's action against the State and Garda Commissioner for alleged wrongful arrest on suspicion of killing the French film producer in 1996.
Mrs Farrell today claimed Detective Garda Jim Fitzgerald came around to a doctor's house she used to clean, stripped naked in a downstairs bedroom and asked for sex.
Under cross examination she repeatedly denied making this up but said she could not be sure of the date happened in 1997 or 1998.
She said the reason she had not before revealed this 'dark secret' was that she was friends with Jim Fitzgerald's wife and did not want to cause her embarrassment.
It is not the first time Marie Farrell's made what have been called 'lewd' allegations against gardai.
However she claims Det Fitzgerald is the garda who coached her to make false statements that Ian Bailey was intimidating her.
