A woman in her 60s has died on Bannow Bay, Co Wexford. 

Gardaí said they were alerted to an incident on the bay at approximately 11.30am today, August 5th.  

Upon arriving, a woman in her 60s was pulled out of the water and pronounced dead at the scene. 

Her body was taken to Waterford University Hospital for a post-mortem examination. 

A file will be prepared for the Coroner, and investigations are ongoing.
