A woman (92) is in a critical condition following a gas explosion at her home in the Ringsend area of Dublin last night.

The incident happened at O'Rahilly House flats at around 10:30pm.

The pensioner suffered burn injuries and was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital.

Gardai at Irishtown are investigating, but it is believed that she may have left a gas ring on.
