Senior Gardaí are meeting in Co Kerry this morning following the discovery of the bodies of a mother and daughter at a house in Killorglan yesterday.

The 27-year-old woman and her 8-year-old daughter - believed to be from Lithuania - were found at their home in Langford Downs at around half past eight in the evening, by a friend who called to the house. It's believed they suffered violent deaths.

The victims have been named locally as 27-year-old Jolanta Lubite and her 8-year-old daughter Enrika. It's understood the pair had been living in Ireland for around 5 years. The child's body was found upstairs while her Mother's remains were discovered downstairs.
