A woman has been arrested as part of a Garda investigation into fraudulent learner driver permits.
The Garda National Economic Crime Bureau began their investigation in March 2021 and conducted a number of search operations in the intervening three years.
They believe there were 124 incidents in which people paid up to €2,500 for an impersonator to sit the Driver Theory Test Certificate on their behalf.
In total, 114 learner permits were obtained fraudulently and all have since been voided and revoked by the RSA.
The arrested woman, who is in her 40s, is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.
Investigations remain ongoing.
