A woman has been arrested by Gardaí investigating the murder of two-year-old Santina Cawley in Cork.
The girl was found with serious injuries after emergency services were called to an apartment in the Elderwood Apartment complex on Boreenmanna Road in the early hours of Friday morning.
She was taken to Cork University Hospital, but later died.
A post mortem examination was carried out on the girl, however the results are not being released for operational reasons.
On Monday morning, Gardaí arrested a woman aged in her 30s in connection with the investigation.
She is currently being held at Gurranabraher Garda station under Section 4 of Criminal Justice Act.
Gardaí say investigations are continuing.
They are appealing to anyone who was in the Elderwood Apartment complex between 4.00pm on Thursday July 4th and 6.00am Friday July 5th, who has not already spoken to Gardaí, to come forward.
