A woman in her 40s has been arrested after €500,000 in cash was seized in the Dublin 2 area.
Gardaí seized the cash on April 12th as part of investigations targeting organised crime in the Dublin region.
A vacuum packing machine and documentation were also recovered in the investigation.
Head of Serious & Organised Crime Justin Kelly said the cash seizure was “a significant blow to an organised criminal group”.
“Such work demonstrates An Garda Síochána's commitment to disrupting criminal networks and preventing money laundering,” he said.
“The seizure of substantial quantities of cash is a priority for the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Unit (GNDOCB), as cash often underpins and enables the activities of criminal organisations.”
Investigations are ongoing.
