Gardai in Tullamore have arrested a woman as part of their investigation into the murder of a girl (11) a year and a half ago.

Emily Barut was found dead at her home on Bachelor's Walk in the town on September 15th 2012.

She had cerebal palsy and was in a wheelchair.

A woman aged in her 50s was arrested this morning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

She is being detained at Tullamore Garda Station.
