A woman in her 40s has been arrested by Gardaí investigating the murder of a German student in Rialto yesterday.

The woman was detained in the in the Dublin area at 1pm this afternoon and is being held for questioning at Pearse Street Garda Station.

At around half five yesterday morning, two men were stabbed several times in the Herberton apartments on St. Anthony's Road in Rialto.

Both were taken to hospital - where one man died and the other is now said to be in a serious, but stable condition.

Two teenage boys remain in custody in Kevin Street Garda station in relation to the incident.
