Gardaí are appealing for information after a woman was knocked to the ground and assaulted during a robbery in County Cork.
It happened on Castle Road in the town in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Investigators said she was approached by a man while out walking at around 3am.
The man stole her handbag, knocked her to the ground and assaulted her.
Three men who happened to be in the area at the time came to help her. Gardaí said she did not need any medical attention after the attack.
The suspect is described as being 6ft tall and was wearing black clothing with ‘PUMA’ written across his jumper.
Gardai are appealing for anyone who was in the Castle Road area of Bandon between 2:45am and 3:30am yesterday to contact them.
They are also calling on anyone who may have seen the suspect that evening to contact them.
