Gardaí say it happened shortly before 7:15pm on the R139 at Coolock.
The woman, aged in her 40s, was taken to Beaumont Hospital with serious injuries.
She has since been pronounced dead in hospital.
A postmortem examination will now be arranged.
Gardaí say the motorcyclist was uninjured.
The road was closed for a time while Gardaí carried out a forensic examination; however, it has since reopened.
Gardaí are this morning appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They are particularly interested in talking to anyone who was on the R139 at Coolock between 7pm and 7:30pm last night and may have camera footage.
