Two women have died following separate road traffic incidents in Kerry and Westmeath.
Two teenagers are recovering in hospital after the fatal car crash in Kerry.
The teens were passengers in a single-vehicle collision which claimed the life of a woman in her 40s.
It happened shortly before 9am this morning on the Ballyduff to Tralee Road at Ballincosig Cross in Lixnaw.
Meanwhile another woman (24) who was hit by a car in Athlone earlier this week has died. The incident happened in Glasson Village at 8am on Wednesday morning.
She suffered serious injuries and was taken to Tullamore General Hospital.
She was subsequently transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where she died yesterday evening.
A post mortem is due to take place.
