A woman has died following a road crash in Co Sligo.
The two-car collision happened shortly after 7:30pm yesterday on the R290 at Dunamurry in Ballygawley.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene where a woman aged in her 50s was pronounced dead.
Her body has been removed to the mortuary at Sligo University Hospital and the local Coroner has been notified. A post-mortem examination will be arranged.
The driver of the second car was taken by ambulance to Sligo University Hospital. Their injuries are not described as life-threatening.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
They are also appealing to road users with camera footage, including dash-cam from the scene of the collision, to make it available to them.
The scene was preserved for an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
The woman is the eighth person to die on Ireland's roads so far this year.
