A woman has been killed and a man injured in a fatal road crash earlier today at Sheenaune in Westport, Co. Mayo.
The collision involved a car and a truck. It happened at around 9:10am this morning on the main N5 Westport to Castlebar road.
The 24-year-old female passenger of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The 33-year old male car driver was taken to Mayo General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
The road has been closed for a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
Witnesses have been asked to contact Westport Garda Station.
