A woman in her 80s has been killed in a three-vehicle crash in Co Galway.
The collision between a van and two cars happened shortly after 10am this morning on the N17 at Gortnagunned in Milltown.
The dead woman was a passenger in one of the cars.
The female driver of the same car, aged in her 40s, was taken to University Hospital Galway where she is being treated for her injuries - which are not believed to be life threatening.
The male driver of the van, aged in his 50s, was taken to University Hospital Galway with serious injuries.
The female driver of the second car, aged in her 20s, was uninjured and received treatment at the scene.
The N17 at Milltown is currently closed with local diversions in place. A technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators is ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage - including dash-cam - and were travelling on the N17 at Gortnagunned, Milltown, Galway between 9:30am and 10am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
