An elderly woman has been killed in a road crash in Co. Tipperary. The collision happened at Two Mile Borris at around 2pm this afternoon.

Gardai say the woman's car hit a fence. Her body has been removed to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.

A second woman who was a passenger in the car was also injured, although not seriously.

Gardai at Thurles are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Motorists are being advised that part of the road is closed and diversions are in place.
