A woman in her 20s has been killed in a road crash in Co. Wexford.

She died when the car she was driving collided with another car at 2pm this afternoon at Newbawn in New Ross.

It happened about 3 miles from Ballinaboola on the road to Foulksmills.

The man who was driving the other car was not seriously injured. The road is closed this evening to allow a forensic examination take place.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
