A woman has died after being struck by lightning on a mountain range in the Scottish Highlands.
It happened on the Na Gruagaichean mountain, near Glencoe at around 5:40pm yesterday evening.
Two women were struck by lightning while out hiking with a group.
Both women were airlifted to hospital, but one - a 55-year-old woman - died from her injuries.
The other woman is in a stable condition in hospital.
Police Scotland's Inspector Isla Campbell said: "We are grateful for the prompt and professional response from partner agencies to this tragic incident and offer our condolences to the lady's family."
Local coast guard, mountain rescue and ambulance teams were also involved in yesterday's operation.
