A woman in her 60s has died while swimming in Dublin Bay near Killiney Beach.
Gardaí have confirmed that the woman’s body was removed from the water at around 11am last Thursday morning.
A search operation was launched on Tuesday after her clothing was discovered on Killiney Beach.
Rescue crews believed she had gone for a swim off the beach earlier that afternoon and searched late into the night.
The search was then resumed the following day.
The woman was found in the water on Thursday by Dún Laoghaire RNLI and brought back to shore by members of the Irish Coast Guard.

Her remains were taken to Loughlinstown Mortuary where a post-mortem was conducted.
The Coast Guard today offered its condolences to the woman’s family and friends.
