A woman is due in court charged in connection with a fatal crash in County Monaghan on Monday.

A 3-year-old boy was killed in the two car collision at Annamarron on the N2 at half past six in the evening.

He was a passenger in a car whose 36-year-old female driver had to be airlifted to Tallaght hospital in Dublin.

Two females in the other vehicle were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

Gardaí say a 25-year-old woman will appear before Carrickmacross District Court this morning.
