A woman has been released without charge, after entering a school in Co Mayo carrying a knife.

Gardai say it happened at around half past nine this morning at a secondary school in Ballina.

The woman is alleged to have threatened a member of staff.

She was arrested and taken to Ballina Garda Station, but has since been released from custody.
