A mother of one said she feared for her life when a 16 year old boy wrestled her to the ground and sexually assaulted her on her way home from a party in north Dublin.
The teenager has pleaded guilty to the attack in October 2012 and also admits harming another woman who came to the rescue of his victim.
The mother of one was drunk and walking home from a party just before 6am when the 16 year old boy approached her from behind and repeatedly punched her in the face until she fell to the ground.
She told gardai she believed she was going to be raped and began screaming in fear for her life.
The teenager said he'd a knife, put his hand over her mouth and tried to remove her clothing as well as his own.
Her screams were heard by locals - but one woman who came to assist her was beaten with a can of Bulmers by the accused before he ran away.
He has now pleaded guilty and apologised to his victims but says he can't remember what happened because of head injuries he suffered in another assault that night.
Judge Martin Nolan says that claim that has been met with some skepticism by his probation officer and he wants an updated probation report before he passes sentence in March.
