A woman in her 30s has been hospitalised with multiple apparent stab wounds after a reported burglary in Castleisland, Co Kerry. 

A man in his 40s has been arrested and is being held a Garda Station in Kerry while investigations continue. 

The woman is currently being treated in at University Hospital Kerry for injuries that have been described as “not life threatening”. 

It is believed an aggravated burglary happened in the early hours of the morning.
