A 42-year-old woman is due to appear in court in Limerick in connection with the death of an 8-year-old boy in Charleville on Monday.
The woman was arrested in Cork yesterday evening.
She will be brought before Limerick District Court this evening following the death of Anthony Ward.
Anthony was found dead in bed at the home he shared with his mother Diane at Harrison Place in Charleville.
It came after Diane contacted a family member saying she needed help.
His remains are currently lying in repose at Hawe’s Funeral Home.
He will be removed to Holy Cross Church in Charleville with requiem mass taking place at 2.30pm tomorrow.
