Gardaí are continuing to question a man and women in their 20's in connection with a shooting in Cork.

A 21-year-old woman was seriously injured when a shot was fired through a downstairs window of her home in Hollywood Estate in Hollyhill in the early hours of this morning.

The woman received a gunshot wound to her neck and was taken to Cork University hospital.

Her injuries are described as serious but not life threatening.

The man and woman, both in there 20s, were arrested in relation to the incident nearby.

They are being held under section 30 of the Offences against the State Act at the Bridewell and Gurranabraher Garda stations.
