A woman who was found unconscious in a Kildare car park after a suspected assault is in serious condition in hospital.

Gardaí and emergency services arrived at St Conleth's Car Park in Newbridge, County Kildare, yesterday shortly after 8am and found a woman who was unresponsive.

The woman was transferred to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

There have been no arrests made at this time.

Investigations are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing to the public for information about the suspected assault – specifically anyone who was in the area of St Conleth's Car Park between 11pm on December 3rd and 8.15am on December 4th.
