A woman has died in hospital after a car crash in Cork over the weekend.

Gardaí said the crash happened at Sarsfield Court in Glanmire at around 7.45pm on Sunday.

The woman, aged in her 50s, was taken to Cork University Hospital where she was treated for serious injuries.

She was yesterday pronounced dead in hospital.

A second woman, aged in her 40s, has been receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí are asking any witnesses to the crash to come forward.

They are particularly interested in talking to anyone who was travelling on the road at the time and may have dash cam footage.
