A woman aged in her 20s, who died after she was attacked at a house in Co Meath, has been named.
Larisa Serban was pronounced dead at a house in Rathmore shortly after 5.00am on Friday morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and she was declared dead shortly afterwards.
Larisa is believed to be from eastern Europe and had recently moved to the area.
A man in his 30s, who is believed to have been known to Larisa, has been arrested.
He is being questioned under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Ashbourne Garda station.
A senior investigating officer has been appointed and an incident room has been established at Kells Garda station.
The investigation is ongoing.
