A 55-year-old town official from Michigan, US fatally shot herself while adjusting her bra gun holster.

Police in the town of St Joseph say the woman shot herself in the eye on New Year's Day, and had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital:

“She was having trouble adjusting her bra holster, couldn't get it to fit the way she wanted it to. She was looking down at it and accidentally discharged the weapon,”  a spokesperson told the Kalamazoo Gazette.

Christina Bond was a delegate for St Joseph township, a successful body builder, and volunteered at her local county jail's ministry.

Arms and accessories aimed at women have been increasing in popularity in the US in recent years, ranging from concealed carry purses to pink pistols.
