A woman in jail for murder has received another life sentence for killing John Forrester, whose body was found trussed up with cable ties in the River Bandon two years ago.

Catherine O'Connor pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court to murdering the father of four at Bridge House, Sean Hales Place in Bandon, Co Cork on November 12th 2011.

The court heard 42-year-old John Forrester was from Blackpool in England, but had been living in Bandon since 2006.

The post mortem concluded he suffered blunt force trauma and asphyxia. There were no signs of drowning.

In a victim impact statement his nephew, Jamie Forrester, told the court that he hoped Catherine O'Connor would never see the light of day again to be allowed torture another family as she had tortured theirs.

Outside court he explained what he meant.

The court heard Catherine O'Connor knew her victim and had lived with him for 6 weeks until a week before she murdered him.

In July, she was found guilty of murdering 27-year-old father of one, Jonathan Duke, at Bridge House in November 2011.

The 37-year-old mother of three, who is originally from Kinsale, has 55 previous convictions.
