An Australian woman has admitted scattering the ashes of her father on the triple jump track at the Olympic Stadium in London.
Robyn Glynn’s dad George Avery won a silver medal at the London Games in 1948.
He had wanted to attend this year but died in 2006.
Robyn and her family snuck down to the track as they watched the triple jump and the victory of Usain Bolt in the 200 metre final.
“We snuck ourselves down to the edge of the track and in the breeze we let his ashes go and they went right over the triple jump track” she told the Australian Broadcasting Network ABC.
“We decided that this is where he would have wanted to come back to” she added.
