A woman was seriously injured in a car crash in Cork City this morning.
Shortly after 10am, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the two car collision on the N28 at Carrs Hill, Mount Oval.
The driver of one of the cars, a woman in her late 30s, was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital where her condition is understood to be critical.
The driver of the second car, a man in his 40s, was assessed at the scene and did not require immediate hospital treatment.
The scene has been technically examined and the road has fully reopened
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
