A woman who confronted an Israeli man visiting Dublin has said she has no regrets and would do so again.
A video of the confrontation, which has been widely circulated on social media, shows two women telling the Israeli, Tamir Ohayon, that he is “not welcome in Ireland” and that neither are “Zionists”.
After the man responds, “I love you too” one woman seemingly spits at the man and he asks, “Did you just spit at me?” She then replies, “I did and I actually did not miss.”
This is how “the land of a hundred thousand welcomes” treats Israeli tourists.
A shocking example of the anti-Israeli & antisemitic environment that has been permitted to develop in Ireland. An Israeli was stalked, targeted and assaulted just because he is Israeli, while others… pic.twitter.com/xqxBTOyoz4

In a post on Instagram, Mr Ohayon said he contacted Gardaí about the incident but claims they “didn’t seem to care at all”.
“This was an act of pure terrorism and everyone was silent,” he wrote.
“I couldn’t sleep the whole night and locked myself in my hotel room until I moved to another hotel the following day.
“I will never step foot in Ireland again.”
On Newstalk Breakfast, one of the women, Léna Seale said their actions were motivated by their support for Palestine.
“This guy, Tamir Ohayon, he was posting on his social media, he was posting his location and his travels to Ireland,” she said.
“He was also on dating apps and we became aware of him, it became common knowledge that this guy was coming to Ireland.
“Although the media is saying he’s just a businessman, there’s many things that are indicating that he’s still an [Israeli] soldier.
“He posted on his open Instagram account as recently as a few weeks ago, [a picture] of in his military gear - he posted a selfie licking a rifle.”
When asked if she would confront Mr Ohayon again, Ms Seale said she did not regret her actions.
“I would,” she said.
“I would honestly because I don’t think people who are in the [Israeli military] and are so proud of that and have no criticism of it, deserve to be comfortable in Ireland.”
She added that she understands that in the video she and her friends look like “the aggressors” but insisted that the Israeli mili
“Everyone is very much focused on the fact that there was a spit,” Ms Seale said.
“We were actually really surprised that this is what came out because we were so incensed that an IOF - Israeli Occupation Forces - [was there].”
Ms Seale added that photos on his social media are “inappropriate” photos and “glamorise the military”.
“He also posted a picture in Hebron in Palestine, where I’ve actually been myself,” she claimed.
“He posted it as being in Israel - he’s now since deleted that post - but this is very clear that he supports the expansion of the settlements in Hebron.
“He also posted a video saying that he wants to send all pro-Palestinian people to Gaza - many other provocative things.”
Israel’s Ambassador to Ireland, Dana Erlich, described the video as a “shocking example of the anti-Israeli & antisemitic environment that has been permitted to develop in Ireland.”
Since the October 7th attack, a number of Jews are understood to have left Ireland, citing an increase in antisemitism.
