A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 30s was found dead in Dublin this morning.
The woman's body was found at an apartment in the Charlestown area of Finglas at around 6:15 am this morning.
She had sustained serious knife injuries to her neck.
A man in his 30s - who was known to the victim - has now been arrested on suspicion of murder.
He has been taken to Finglas Garda Station, and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
A team of Garda detectives has arrived at the residential apartments near the Charlestown Shopping Centre, and a technical examination of the scene will be carried out.
GardaĆ are verifying the identity of residents before permitting entry to the building.
The woman's body remains at the scene, and the State pathologist has been informed.
