An investigation has been launched after the body of a woman was found in County Tipperary yesterday.

The woman aged in her 40s was discovered deceased at a residence in Newport.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place later today at University Hospital Limerick.

Gardaí say results of the post-mortem will determine the course of their investigation.
