There is reportedly an increasing trend of 'heteropessimism' online, where women swear off men out of a belief that heterosexual relationships will never be fulfilling.
Journalist Rachel Connolly wrote about the movement in The Guardian, and joined Moncrieff to explain its origins.
"It's just kind of the idea that heterosexuality is very unfulfilling, men are always going to be a bit rubbish so you might as well just have a rubbish relationship and put up with it," she said.
"Crucially it's very sort of weary and committed to bad relationships, I would say; it's kind of that thing of 'Oh, my boyfriend's a bit crap but, can't do anything to help it'.
"So, that's kind of what heteropessimism is and has been."
However, Ms Connolly said she found the practice somewhat "performative".
