A worker has tested positive for COVID-19 at the Intel construction site in Leixlip, County Kildare.
The person, working for a construction company on behalf of Intel, began feeling unwell last weekend and has since tested positive.
They are now self-isolating.
Intel said the construction company is “conducting all the necessary follow-up in conjunction with public health authorities.”
It has wished the worker a speedy recovery.
Work began on Intel’s new 110,000 square metre manufacturing fabrication facility in Leixlip late last year.
When planning permission was granted in November, the company said it would create 3,000 construction jobs over four years.
It said there would be 6,000 workers on-site during the peak of the construction phase.
