Working families are being forced to turn to food banks to meet their basic needs.
Dublin’s Crosscare food bank says it has distributed almost double the amount of food and basic household goods in 2014, compared to last year.
It comes as they launch their Christmas appeal for food to be donated through local Dublin parishes.

The Manager of Crosscare’s food bank, Valerie Cummins, says the type of people seeking help is changing.
She says they’re now seeing a lot of working families coming to them for essential food and household products.
