It's hoped a new world record will be set in Dublin later today. 

Hundreds of people are expected to gather on O'Connell Street at 4pm, in an attempt to break the record of the most Christmas jumpers in one place at the one time.

The event's called Geansai Nollaig and all money raised will go to the youth organisation Foroige.

CEO of Dublin City Business Improvement District Richard Guiney said it's not the first time Ireland has broke this record.
